VXL has a long history of partnering with Citrix to ensure VXL products provide our customers with the full benefits of the Citrix environment. As an established Citrix Solution Partner, VXL consulted with Citrix to define market needs and specifications for a new line of thin client desktops with a range of features that would further enhance the Citrix user experience.

The first models specifically designed for Citrix were launched at the Citrix iForum global customer event held in October 2006, and included the Itona TC45xx desktop and TC46xx Wireless machines. These models were amongst the first to complete “Citrix Ready” verification.

Clients and Software
In addition to optimizing the hardware configuration for Citrix environments, the Itona TC45xx and TC46xx models are available with Citrix® ICA® clients and Voice over IP software pre-installed. Citrix Customer Rebate

To further enhance VXL products, each device includes a $20 rebate voucher which becomes valid when connected to a Citrix server. This is a discount for Citrix users and demonstrates VXL’s commitment to delivering quality and value to Citrix customers.

Independent Software Vendors(ISVs)
The new Itona models are particularly suited to the requirements of independent software vendors. The combination of Citrix Access Essentials and pre-configured VXL Thin Clients provides ISVs with turnkey secure remote access to their line-of-business software.

By eliminating PC hardware & software configuration issues, centralizing administration and dramatically lowering the overall cost per user, the combined solution helps ISVs:

• Identify more use cases (local, mobile and remote)
• Make their product applicable to more users in an organization
• Sell more application licenses
• Offer a more competitive alternative, particularly for business users who have little IT skills
• Improve customer satisfaction

Approximately 75% of the cost of a typical I.T. system is the ongoing running costs and recent studies put the cost savings of Thin Client over a PC based network to be between 40% and 65%. However, dramatic savings can also be made on the hardware and software costs as indicated by these example prices for these Citrix Ready VXL Thin Clients.
