Manchester, UK, 8th September 2009 – VXL Instruments, a leading manufacturer of thin client devices and Ericom Software, a global leader in Application Access and Virtualization solutions today announced that Ericom® Blaze, a breakthrough in Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) acceleration and compression technology will be available on all VXL’s Linux and Windows XP embedded thin clients from 1st October, 2009.

The recently launched Ericom Blaze delivers graphics-rich content 10-25 times faster than Standard Microsoft RDP across WANs and congested LANs, as well as reduces RDP bandwidth consumption by up to 25 times and optimising RDP network traffic. The Ericom Blaze client will be available on VXL’s wide range of XPe and Linux based Itona thin clients including the new entry-level model, the Itona TC1331. The client software will be embedded in the Itona models to simplify the deployment process after purchasing the Ericom Blaze licenses.

Ericom Blaze Highlights:

• Accelerates the delivery of graphics-rich content, e.g., browsers, Flash. PowerPoint and other media-rich applications over WAN/LAN
• Fully compatible with all applications accessed using RDP, including graphic-intensive applications with rich user interfaces
