Extend Producer Responsibily (ERP) - Our Responsibility

On 23rd March 2016, the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change notified the e-waste (Management) Rules 2016 which were applicable to every manufacturer, producer, consumer, bulk consumer, collection centers, dealers, e-retailers, refurbisher, dismanter and recycler involved in manufacture, sale, transfer, purchase, collection, storage and processing of e-waste or electrical and electronic equipment listed in Schedule I, including their components, consumables, parts and spares which make the product operational

What is E-waste?

E-waste means electrical and electronic equipment, whole or in part discarded as waste by the consumer or bulk consumer as well as rejects from manufacturing, refurbishment and repair processes.

Why is it hazardous? India generates over 18.5 lakh tons of e-waste per year which is set to rise exponentially. These electronic products contain not only precious metals like gold, silver, copper but also hazardous chemicals like Lead, Mercury and Cadmium. If these are not handled responsibly, they end up polluting our land, water and soil.

What do we do with our E-waste?

VXL Instruments has partnered with Saahas Waste Management Private Limited, a CPCB authorized PRO (Producer Responsibility Organization), that assists producers in compliance with the e-waste management rules 2016. They partner with state pollution control board authorized e–waste dismantlers and recyclers for safe and sound e-waste recycling to ensure no damage is caused to the environment in the process.
